Tarangire National Park, located in northern Tanzania’s Manyara region, is one of the country’s most underrated yet truly exceptional safari destinations. Covering approximately 2,850 square kilometers (1,100 square miles), the park is part of Tanzania’s famous Northern Safari Circuit, but is often quieter and less crowded than Serengeti or Ngorongoro — making it a favorite for wildlife enthusiasts seeking a more intimate safari experience.

Day 2 Ngorongoro Crater

The Ngorongoro Crater, located in northern Tanzania, is one of the most spectacular safari destinations in Africa and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It forms part of the larger Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA), which spans about 8,300 square kilometers (3,200 square miles) and borders the Serengeti National Park to the west. The crater itself is the world’s largest intact and unfilled volcanic caldera, and its enclosed ecosystem supports an astonishing concentration of wildlife within a relatively small area — making it one of the most unique safari experiences on Earth.

Day 3 Southern Serengeti National Park

Many visitors fall in love with the Serengeti here in the south of the park. That's because the wildlife viewing is outstanding as the animals move across the golden grasslands that are so typical of the Serengeti. This landscape is perfect for cheetahs, and the rocky outcrops here allow spotting of lions and leopards.

Sitting atop the seemingly endless savannah plains of the Southern Serengeti, Africa Safari South Serengeti is an excellent tented camp. This region, also known as Ndutu, is known for its herds of wildebeest and zebra, as well as big cats, and you may even see them without leaving camp. Simple but perfectly placed safari tents, and dining and lounge areas, are part of the deal of staying here.
